Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Distorted Vocal Lab (the "Service"), an online vocal coaching service operated by Geochinsori Yeonguhoe (거친소리 연구회), a sole proprietorship trading as "Distorted Vocal Lab" ("we", "us"), from the Republic of Korea.

• "Member": a person who accepts these Terms and creates an account.
• "Submissions": videos, audio and text you upload.
• "Trainer": a coach we assign to give you feedback and prescriptions.
• "Subscription": a paid monthly plan.

We post these Terms in the Service and announce changes 7 days in advance (30 days for changes unfavourable to you). If you do not object by the effective date, you are deemed to accept them; if you object, you may delete your account.

• You must be 16 or older. You confirm this at sign-up.
• If this confirmation is untrue, we may close your account.

Keep your account details accurate and do not share or transfer your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

• Free diagnosis of a submitted video by a trainer.
• By subscription: personalised prescriptions, practice modules and trainer feedback.
• We may change the Service for operational or technical reasons and will announce material changes in advance.

• Payments are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record; Paddle's buyer terms also apply to payment, tax and refunds.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged from the next renewal.
• Withdrawal and refunds: you may request a full refund within 14 days of payment, for any reason or none. After 14 days no refund is given, though you may still cancel at any time. A free diagnosis module is available as a pre-purchase trial. Paddle's refund policy applies in addition.
• Your data is kept after cancellation; only paid features are limited.

You must not:

• use another person's data or account;
• upload Submissions that infringe others' copyright, image or other rights;
• copy, distribute or resell Service content such as trainer feedback or practice modules;
• interfere with the Service (automated access, bypassing security);
• or break the law.

• You own your Submissions.
• You permit us and our trainers to store, play and analyse your Submissions only to provide coaching. We will not use them for promotion or other purposes without your separate consent.
• You confirm that you hold the necessary rights to any music in your Submissions (backing tracks, original songs) or that your use is for private practice. If we receive an infringement notice, we may hide or remove the Submission.
• Service content (practice module videos, prescriptions, feedback text) belongs to us or its rightful owners.

We may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, outages or events beyond our control, with advance notice where possible.

• You may request deletion of your account at any time in the Service. The request does not take effect immediately: a 30-day grace period applies, during which your account keeps working as normal.
• The deletion runs in our batch process after the grace period has passed. The batch runs once a day, so the actual erasure may take up to one further day after the 30 days have elapsed.
• When the deletion runs, your Submissions (video and audio), trainer feedback and comments, prescriptions and practice module records, cycles, notifications, trainer assignments and notes, and data export requests are permanently deleted, and the personal details you entered on your profile (display name, your stated goals and concerns) are erased. Your account record itself remains, marked as "deleted", and once the deletion has run you can no longer sign in with this account.
• The following are not deleted — payment and subscription records (kept for the period the law requires), consent records and audit logs. In addition, trainer comments already published in the Service are kept separately in a form that cannot identify you. What is retained, and for how long, is described in the Privacy Policy.
• You may withdraw your request in the Service at any time before the deletion runs, which puts your account back the way it was. Once the deletion has run it cannot be undone.
• If you breach section 8, we may restrict or close your account after notice (or promptly after the fact in urgent cases).

• We have no obligation to intervene in disputes between members, or between a member and a third party.
• We do not guarantee any particular improvement in your singing.
• Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
• Disputes go to the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act; no exclusive forum is designated.
• If you are a consumer in the EU or elsewhere, you keep the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence and your right to sue in its courts.
